Fun Shapes and Colors in Porcelain Tile Becoming More Popular

Porcelain tile patterns and shapes are not just for walls and backsplash; they are now taking over floors in 2016 as well. The geometric tile patterns, colors, and options are endless! Brick-look, cement, metallic and wood styles! So many porcelain choices and all are so amazing, fun and inspirational!

Porcelain tiles are made from fired clay but porcelain is baked for a longer period of time, which results in a firmer and denser material that is also more durable and scratch resistant.

Porcelain has many added benefits that make it an exceptional choice for your home. Since the color of the tile’s ‘body’ is usually similar to the color of the surface, chips and wears are less likely to be noticed. The lower absorption of porcelain makes it ‘freeze proof’, meaning that water can’t enter the ‘body’ of the tile and crack the tile if it freezes. Porcelain is resistant to both mold and mildew. Some historic examples of rooms decorated entirely in porcelain tiles can be found in several European palaces, including the Royal Palace of Madrid and the Porcelain Tower of Nanjing.
